We're here! After much planning, and prayer, and preparation (though apparently never enough!) we're finally settling in to our time in Germany.
A few notes on this blog:
I'm going to try to keep it to mainly pictures and captions.
I'll try to update it regularly.
I'm going to post the fun stuff, but beware: I'm also going to post the not-so-idyllic, because that's been a big part of our experience thus far. I certainly had a romanticized version of Europe in my head before coming here, and while the romance is certainly here (see picture above), it's only a small part. To be honest, I've been finding I like the real a little more than the ideal. So bear with me as I talk about visas, language barriers, and buses, and I'll promise to post plenty of pretty romantic pictures to make up for it!

So glad you'll be giving us some real too! I look forward to lots of stories.
ReplyDeleteAh, friend--I just read all three posts. I know what you mean. Real life is full of romantic and mundane and downright miserable--wherever you are in the world. (That's what I've learned from traveling, anyway!) But do tell us all about your experience! I think it's best for everyone if you don't sugarcoat things because if you did, you would only perpetuate the false images of faraway places in other people's minds! Whatever happens, I sure you both will be so glad you did this, though. Keep the posts coming! Love from TN :)
